Mid March LCER Briefing

Last week the Labour Campaign for Electoral Reform was with Make Votes Matter in Dundee at Scottish Labour Conference. This Saturday we are at Labour North's Conference in the University of Newcastle.  

We have Helen Goodman MP and Julie Ward MEP with LCER Parliamentary and Political Officer, Mary Southcott at the MVM/LCER fringe with Benj Eckford in the Chair at our fringe entitled  Proportional Representation: Democracy for the Many.  It will be from 1 to 2.30 pm in Lecture Theatre 1, The Heschel Building, Newcastle University, NE1 7RU.  Come and join in the conversation at the fringe or drop in on us at the stall.  

 

Next Saturday, 24 March, the Calderdale Compass is being launched in Hebden Bridge.  Speakers include Lisa Nandy MP, Klina Jordan from Make Votes Matter, Frances Foley from Compass.   Contact Jane at calderdalecompass@yahoo.com

 

Billy Hayes, will represent LCER at the Scottish TUC Conference at Aviemore, 16-18 April, on the platform put together by Trade Unions for Democratic Reform.  

 

We are going with Make Votes Matter to Labour Wales Conference in Llandudno on 20-22 April, specifically  we have a fringe meeting 12.30-2pm in the Alwen Room on the Saturday.   

 

Do remember to tell us about branches, constituencies or women's forum or other meetings who want a speaker or facilitator to get the discussion going on electoral reform in every corner of Britain.
