One of our brilliant speakers can visit your CLP, branch or union either in person or virtually. Just fill in this short form and we will get back to you with some great options for your meeting or event.
The changes we're campaigning for will have to be voted through Parliament by MPs. We spend a lot of time talking to a lot of MPs, but often it is constituents, not campaigning groups, that change MPs' minds.
Your MP needs to know the arguments for voting reform, and they also need to know how much this issue means to you.
If you know your MP personally, take every opportunity to engage them in conversation. If a personal conversation isn't on the cards, drop them a line by email!
- ACTION IN YOUR CLP, BRANCH OR UNION -
Submitting a motion to your Labour Party CLP or branch meeting, or to your local union meeting, is an excellent way of initiating a discussion. Getting a motion passed puts down a marker that the group backs voting reform, and it's good if groups can refresh this periodically.
Check our Resources page for suggested text for motions. At certain points in the campaign, we ask groups to stick closely to the suggested wording; at other times, it's good to adapt the wording to your own local situation.
Sharing our message on social media is a key way to spread the message far and wide.
Please take a moment to follow our social media channels (links are in the footer of all our web pages). Ensure you sign up for alerts, comment on our posts if the mood takes you, and share our posts far and wide.
- JOIN YOUR LOCAL WHATSAPP GROUP -
Many of our members belong to regional WhatsApp groups. It's a great way of discussing ideas (particularly those relevant to your region) and getting to know other LCER members.
We regularly circulate information on joining groups - if you can't wait, please contact us right now with a request!
- HELP OUT AT STALLS AND CONFERENCES -
We often need local volunteers to help with staffing LCER stalls at conferences or events, or to hand out leaflets.
Keep an eye out for these requests in our mailings and WhatsApp groups!
